Rivers in Uganda. Uganda is gift with the longest river called River Nile. The Nile is believed to originate from Uganda and pours into the Mediterranean sea. The river is about 6696km long and pours its water to over nine countries although it’s more centered to Uganda as well as Egypt. Countries include Sudan, Burundi, Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, DR. Gorilla tourism earns Uganda the biggest percentage from tourism sector. The cost of Uganda Gorilla permit goes up to US$600 each.
Chimpanzees are found in Kibale National Park, Kyambura Gorge and Kalinzu of Queen Elizabeth National Park, Budongo Forest and Toro-Semliki game reserve. Chimpanzee trekking are the second sought after Gorilla trekking.
Mountains in Uganda include Mount Elgon, Mount Rwenzori, Mount Gahinga, Mount Moroto among others. The highest mountain in Uganda is Rwenzori which is also known as the mountains of the moon.
The big five- the big five include elephants, Lions, Rhinos, Buffaloes and Leopards. Other animals include antelopes, water bucks, Warthogs, Chimpanzees, Gorillas, Spotted Hyenas, reptiles the list is endless.
Lakes in Uganda are beautiful. This can be evidenced by the morning sun rays reflection on Lake Victoria, Lake Kyoga, Lake Bunyonyi, Lake Albert, Lake Edward, Lake Wamala, Lake Mutanda among others. If you want to enjoy fresh water, do not hesitate to come to Uganda.
