Musanze Cave – place of wonders, 2-4hours exploration
A cave is a natural underground space however; musanze cave is large enough to accommodate more than ten human beings. After Gorilla tracking in volcanoes National Park- tourists cane easily transfer for musanze cave exploration. The cave is 2 kilometers long underneath that were recently unveiled to be visited by tourist in 2013 by the Rwanda Development Board (RDB) together with the Rwanda Defense Forces (RDF).
The caves are situated in Musanze district- few hours drive from volcanoes National Park park headquarters. The cave consists of clear walkways, trails and stairs that take you to the dark interior of the caves that illustrates a picture of a house with several rooms and corridors. The floor is paved and there are some stairs to ease movement. However, inside is dark so, rangers lead tourists inside by the light of torches OR torch helements can be hired from the admin of the cave.
Visit the volcanic region of Rwanda to sight the Caves believed to be as a result of volcanic eruption decades ago that offer an in-depth understanding of the geological and geographical historical development of the globe.
Adventure other spectacular sites and views of the nearby areas including the Buhanga Eco-park known for coronation of Rwandan former kings, the panoramic view of the twin Lakes: Burera and Ruhondo, Karisimbi Volcano climbing, Bisoke Volcano climbing, trek to Dian Fossey grave, golden monkeys trekking and the famous mountain gorillas trekking among others.
It should be noted that Musanze cave exploration is conducted only in morning hours- so travel agencies should be careful. Currently the exploration cost $ 50 per person in high and low season.
