Rates of tourist activities in Uganda

In comparison with Rwanda, Uganda offers cheaper prices for tourist activities. This is evidenced with the cost of Rwanda Gorilla permit at US$ 1500 to that of Uganda at US$ 600.

Gorilla habituation cost  US$ 1500 per permit. The activity allows visitors stay with Gorillas for 4 hours.

The park entry fees is US$ 40 per person per 24hours. Its is a uniform rate to all Savannah parks like Kidepo Valley National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Murchison Falls National Park, Lake Mburo National Park and Semliki National Park.

Chimpanzee trekking permit still cost US$ 150 for Kibale National Park and US$ 50 in other destinations like Kyambura Gorge, Toro-Semliki Game reserve and Budongo Forest.

Chimpanzee habituation cost US$ 200 per permit and only done in Kibale National Park. It allows visitors stay with chimpanzees for full day.

Golden Monkey trekking still cost US$ 90 per permit including park entry fee. Golden Monkey trekking is conducted in only in Mgahinga National Park.

The prices for boat cruise differ from one company to another. But they charge from US$ 25. Launch trip occurs on Lake Victoria, River Nile, Murchison Falls, Kazinga Channel, Lake Bunyonyi, Lake Mutanda, Lake Kyoga, Lake Albert and Lake Edward among others.

Mountaineering on Mountain Rwenzori cost US$900 per permit minus park entry fees. It should be noted that entry fees are paid separately. Other mountain activities cost US$ 80 (Mhaginga Volcano climbing), Mt. Elgon Hike cost US$ 75.

Batwa trail experience cost US$ 80  in Mgahinga and Bwindi areas. Batwa are the indigenous group of people found in south western Uganda forests "keepers of the forest" They are dramatic, have unique culture etc.

Sports fishing permit goes up to US$ 300 for annual fishing. 1 day fishing in Murchison falls National Park cost US$ 50, Lake Mburo at US$ 15. Four days cost US$ 150 and US$ 15 respectively. Also note that, permit fees excludes park entry fees.

White water rafting at Murchison falls National Park cost US$ 30 - excluding entry fees.
