What makes Mgahinga National Park special?

Mgahinga National Park is the smallest park in Uganda with size of 33.7km2. In comparison, Murchison National Park is the largest in Uganda.

Its only in Mgahinga National park where Gorillas co-exist with Golden Monkeys in Uganda. In other words, its the only destination where "Gold Meets Silver".

Its the only park in Uganda conducting Gorilla trekking and Golden Monkey tracking activities.

Mgahinga National Park hosts one habituated Gorilla group known as "Nyakagezi". In Comparison, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park protects 14 habituated Gorilla families.

Mgahinga is the only park in Uganda with the mobile Gorilla group. Nyakagezi Gorilla family  moves freely to Rwanda or Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

Mgahinga National Park has three conical, extict Volcanoes namely; Mount Gahinga (3,474m), Mt. Sabinyo, at 3,669m, Mt. Muhavura is the highest peak at 4,127m.

Mgahinga National Park hosts mountain Gorillas in higher elevation compared to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The park sits high in the clouds, at an altitude of between 2227m and 4127m.

The unique bamboo bushes make trekking through Mgahinga National park much easier and amazing.
