Uwinka in Nyungwe N.P
UWINKA VISITORS' CENTER IN NYNGWE NATIONAL PARK, RWANDA
It is the starting point for exploring the treasures of Nyngwe forest national park. The center was founded by the USAD, include a reception desk showing trail in the park, level of difficulty and approximate time needed to walk each trail.
Uwinka is also includes an interpretation center with detailed panels summarizing the history, local culture, rainfall, flora and fauna of the park. In other words, Uwinka is an information center summarizing all about Nyungwe forest National Park.
In Nyungwe forest, there is a number of waterfall and viewing point worth exploring and several camping sites within the park. A nice campsite at Uwinka is a good base to explore the forest. There is also a garden for orchards and picnicking hut wher you can relax from.
The forest walk here is excellent, lasting from 1-8hours and a 3-4days overnight hike. New trails and camping sites are planned as part of the development projects. While cultural tourism is being developed near the edge of the park.

It should be noted that, all the major activities done in Nyungwe forest National park starts from here. Briefing and then kick off with the activity. Such activities include;
